Nobody Can Be Trusted In Traitors Season 3

tv

A new set of stars has moved into Alan Cumming’s deadly Scottish castle and the knives are already out in season 3 of The Traitors. Peacock’s unscripted competition show was just crowned the number one most watched series in the United States. If you’re not watching this thrilling competition show, let us convince you to tune in as we break down everything that’s gone down in the first four episodes.

The whole premise of the show depends on who can you trust and who you can’t. The majority of the house is made up of Faithfuls, while a handful of Traitors creep around in plain sight. The goal is for the Faithfuls to find and banish the Traitors as the game progresses in order to bring home the prize money. However, if a Traitor makes it to the end of the game, they get all the money for themselves. Each episode, the Traitors secretly meet and decide which Faithful they’ll “murder,” or eliminate from the game.

This year’s cast is packed with beloved — and despised — reality television faces. The Faithfuls include The Biggest Loser’s Bob Harper, Big Brother’s Britney Haynes, The Real Housewives of Dubai’s Chanel Ayan, Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause, Summer House’s Ciara Miller, The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Dolores Catania, The Real Housewives of New York City’s Dorinda Medley, Down to Earth’s — and Zac Efron’s brother — Dylan Efron, The Bachelorette’s Gabby Windey, Survivor’s Jeremy Collins, British Royalty Lord Ivar Mountbatten, WWE’s Nikki Garcia, The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Robyn Dixon, actor and Britney Spears’ ex husband Sam Asghari, Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Sandoval, Survivor’s Tony Vlachos, and Bachelor In Paradise’s Wells Adams. First of all, Tom Sandoval being referred to as faithful? So ironic and so iconic of The Traitors producers.

Amongst all these faithful players, four Traitors lurk amongst them. The original Traitors for this season were RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Bob the Drag Queen, Survivor’s Carolyn Wiger, and Big Brother’s Danielle Reyes. However, episode one included a tense scene where the contestants had the choice to let Survivor legend Boston Rob join the game as a faithful. Given his cutthroat history in the world of reality television, the contestants quickly declined letting him join the game. However, the end of episode one reveals that Alan Cumming added Boston Rob to the game as a Traitor. Now Boston Rob has a ton of power and a plan for revenge.

Episode one’s mission was for the Faithfuls and Traitors to work together to row several boats to stations to secure fuel and money for their prize pot in 75 minutes. The only catch? They have to sacrifice a player at each station to secure the goods. This leads to all the women getting sacrificed while most of the men refused to get off the boats. While he group secured some money for the prize pot, the contestants that were sacrificed were now on the short list for murder that night.

Episode one ends with the initial three Traitors meeting for the first time to pick their first kill. The Traitors are feeling powerful after choosing their first victim, but they have no clue Boston Rob will be joining their sinister crew in episode two.

Episode two reveals that the Traitors chose to target the Real Housewives group by murdering Dorinda Medley. Suspicions begin to rise around Wells Adams, Bob Harper, Bob The Drag Queen, and Robyn Dixon. At the first roundtable, claws come out. Perhaps the juiciest piece of gossip brought up at the table was Tom Sandoval accusing Chrishell of being a Traitor with almost no proof. Chrishell immediately fought back and said he is only after her because she’s friends with his ex Ariana Madix. Ultimately, the first person to be banished is Wells Adam who shocks the table when he reveals he’s been a Faithful this whole time.

As the Faithfuls are still reeling from sending home one of their own, they’re thrown into their next mission to secure more prize money. This mission involves the addition of three new members to the show. Boston Rob, Big Brother’s Derrick Levasseur, and The Challenge’s Wes Bergmann. Suddenly, everyone is kissing up to Boston Rob since he’s harboring anger from the entire cast not letting him join in episode one. Talk about awkward! Especially when the episode ends with Boston Rob shocking the other Traitors by joining them at their secret meeting.

Episode three picks up right where the last episode ended, with Boston Rob quickly realizing that Bob the Drag Queen steamrolls the Traitors’ decisions. The Traitors decide to choose utter chaos to confuse the Faithfuls and they murder another Housewife: Chanel Ayan. The Traitors win once again and successfully convince the Faithfuls to banish one of their own again. Tony Valcho is banished from the castle and calls Boston Rob a “sell-out,” which definitely raises some suspicions.

Alan Cumming delivers a surprising feat the Traitors must accomplish before the episode ends. They must sneak into the secret wine cellar to make a shortlist of three people they’d like murdered. It doesn’t help that the wine cellar is right next to the bar — where all the players love to hang out by. The Traitors sucessfully sneak in, but Gabby Windey hears Danielle’s voice leaving the cellar. Now Gabby has a crucial clue at her disposal.

Alan brings all the contestants outdoors and he presents three coffins to them. You know, as you do. He reveals that three people were shortlisted for murder by the Traitors. He calls Nikki, Jeremy, and Ciara to step inside the coffins and shuts the door over them. The contestants are then forced to leave their friends behind knowing that one of them will be murdered.

The Traitors choose to murder Jeremy, who was certain Danielle was a Traitor. However, Danielle doesn’t know that Gabby heard her leaving the cellar. At breakfast, Robyn and Gabby reveal they know the Traitors met in the cellar, but Danielle and Bob the Drag Queen quickly admit that half of the contestants explored the cellar that night. Gabby’s lead is now debunked.

The next mission tasks the contestants to carry heavy boulders up a hill to build ten statues that look like Easter Island statues. Once again, a majority of the men prioritize themselves rather than help the women. Whoever gets a boulder with their name on it on one of the statues will earn instant immunity from the upcoming murder. This causes a rift amongst the players because many prioritize themselves over the prize money.

Several Faithfuls start believing that Nikki or Ciara are Traitors since they survived the coffins, but Dylan Efron is certain Bob the Drag Queen is a Traitor. Dylan accuses Bob the Drag Queen at the roundtable and, with a shocking twist, Boston Rob throws Bob the Drag Queen under the bus too, which results in the banishment of Bob the Drag Queen. The Faithfuls all rejoice when Bob reveals he was a Traitor and Boston Rob has now blown up the trust amongst the Traitors.

With the Faithfuls on a high and a rift forming between the Traitors, season 3 promises to be a thrilling and wild ride as this season progresses. To be honest, I honestly don’t know if I’m rooting for the Traitors or the Faithfuls. I think Gabby is being grossly underestimated and I’d love to see her win. However, after Bob the Drag Queen’s insane dig at Zac Efron’s brother’s acting skills, I’d love to see Dylan win the whole thing.

Make sure you catch new episodes of The Traitors every Thursday at 9p ET on Peacock.
