First Look At Warfare Reveals The Inspiration Behind The Film
From director Alex Garland and Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza, Warfare takes the audience to the middle of the as U.S. forces surge through the territory.
The film’s first look features Mendoza, Garland, and cast including Will Poulter, Charles Melton, and Joseph Quinn . Mendoza reveals the film is about a group of young Navy Seals overseeing a mission who must find places of safety as the war becomes increasingly intense. Using Mendoza and other war veteran’s experiences, the story hones in on the relationship between Mendoza (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai) and fellow veteran Elliot Miller (Cosmo Jarvis). We also see clips of the cast and crew involved in a three-week bootcamp program to build the Navy Seal culture as truthfully as possible. From the brotherhood of the cast to the intense, visceral, brutal nature of war, the film is an ode to the veterans who want to share their stories with their loved ones.
Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Taylor John Smith, Michael Gandolfini, Adain Bradley, Noah Centineo, Evan Holtzman, and Henrique Zaga round out the cast.
Warfare premieres April 11 in theaters.
