Dude, They Got The Band Back Together! Disney Announces Phineas and Ferb Cast at New York Comic Con
Hey Ferb, I know what we’re going to do today: We’re going to celebrate a new season of Phineas and Ferb coming back to our screens! The original show is a five-time Emmy winner and is regarded as the best animated television program Disney ever produced.
It’s been nearly a decade since summer finally ended for our favorite step brothers, but creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh announced at New York Comic Con that the original cast is reuniting for another 104 days of summer for the series reboot on Disney Channel and Disney+ next year. The brothers as they embark on another summer vacation as their sister Candace is determined to bust them. And don’t worry, everyone’s favorite special agent Perry the Platypus will be back as the foil for every scheme by Dr. Doofenshmirtz. I can already hear the mad scientist saying “Perry the Platypus!” “There are stories that we've been wanting to tell for a long time that we never got around to,” Povenmire shared at the NYCC panel, adding: “The songs we're writing for the new season may be our favorites that we've written so far.”
Povenmire and Marsh returning as executive producers and the voices of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Francis Monogram, respectively. Vincent Martella and David Errigo Jr. are back as Phineas and Ferb, with Disney icon Ashley Tisdale returning as their meddling sister Candace. Caroline Rhea will reprise her role as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, the oblivious yet lovable mother of Phineas, Ferb, and Candace. Special agent Perry’s voice actor Dee Bradley Baker will also return and Alyson Stoner is back as Isabella Garica-Shapiro, the neighbor and long-time love interest of Phineas. I’m already practicing my “Whatcha doing?” accent for her return.
Martella marveled over spending 17 years of his life on the show. “This has definitely been the most important thing that I've ever worked on. It means a lot to me that so many people are here right now and people still love this show and these characters. Phineas has been a part of my life longer than most things,” he said. “That's a long time to know someone.”
It’s safe to say the world is so excited to journey back to Danville for another epic 104 days of summer. Be sure to catch the return of Phineas and Ferb next year!
