Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Trailer Features Emotional Return To Hogwarts For Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint
HBO Max has released a magical and nostalgic trailer for their new special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts. To commemorate 20 years since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone hit theatres, the special reunites Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, alongside the rest of the actors and filmmakers from the movie franchise.
The trailer features the cast looking back on the movies that changed their lives. “It feels like no time has passed, and loads of time has passed,” said Watson, while Grint added: “I think this is the perfect time to sit down with everyone and reminisce.” We even get callbacks from Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes about their favorite scenes and memories about joining the film series.
“The thing that scared me the most was the implication that the most meaningful thing in our life was done, and there's something so joyous about seeing everyone, and be like, "It wasn't though,” said Radcliffe. “I wouldn't be the person I am without so many people here.”
The trailer ends with the iconic trio talking in the Gryffindor common room about the “strong bond” they will always share. “We’re family,” said an emotional Grint. “And we will always be part of each other's life.”
Alongside Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint, the reunion will feature Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and filmmakers David Heyman, Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell, and David Yates. Author J.K. Rowling has since become a controversial figure for her anti-Trans comments and was not asked to participate.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts hits HBO Max on January 1.
