Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum Battle It Out In The New Wicked Trailer

We are getting a lot more Oz in the new trailer for Wicked and it’s giving us chills.

The anticipation for this film has fans ravenous and this trailer not only offers more glimpses of the land of Oz, but also dives deeper into the demise of Elphaba and her battle with the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum).

Up until now, we have focused on the unexpected yet powerful friendship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), but, in this new trailer, as Grande says, they are focused on the whole story. We see the origins of Elphaba as she meets Glinda and discovers the strength of the power within her at Shiz University.

“Why is it you always cause some sort of commotion?” says Fiyero Tigelaar (Jonathan Bailey), with Elphaba replying, “I don’t cause commotions. I am one. Some of us are just different.”

Her power is what brings her to the Emerald City. We see how Elphaba builds a life and how it is destroyed by the Wizard. This is our first look at his influence and how it spreads throughout Oz. As he says, “The best way to bring people together is to give them a real good enemy.”

Wicked is coming to theaters on November 27.
