New Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Gives Deeper Look Into Returning Villains

We’ve got a brand-new trailer for the much-anticipated new Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the third film in the franchise, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked for the first time in cinematic history and has a hard time balancing his normal and superhero lives. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange, a botched spell opens up a gateway for Spidey villains of past universes to make their way into this one. It seems their fate is to be killed by Spider-Man, but Peter is desperate to find another way.

In this new trailer, we get more in-depth looks at the new villains coming out way, including Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 from 2004, Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from 2014, and Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.

We even end on a compelling clock tower scene with Peter trying to save MJ, which feels like a parallel to the moment where Peter (Andrew Garfield) attempts to save Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) from a clock tower fall in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and fails. Crossing my fingers Peter can save the day… and maybe get some help from some other Spider-Men.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theatres this Christmas.
