Lady Gaga And Joaquin Phoenix Star In Joker: Folie à Deux Trailer
The day is finally here! Warner Bros. have given the fans what they’ve been dying for: the first trailer to Joker: Folie à Deux. Joaquin Phoenix returns as the devilish comedian Arthur Fleck, with Lady Gaga stepping into her new role as his wicked other half Harley Quinn.
We kick off where left off at Arkham Asylum, with Harley and Fleck first locking eyes, entranced by one another. “I’m nobody,” Quinn says, as she mimics a handgun with her hand to her head. “Let’s get out of here.” It’s time to escape and embrace life, dancing under Gotham's rain-soaked skies to the strains of Hal David and Burt Bacharach's “What The World Needs Now Is Love.” This iconic duo of Harley and Joker, whose mischief and cunning are as enthralling as ever, each perfectly mirror the other's madness.
Arthur is taking his act on the road, but this time, he has a partner. "I'm not alone anymore," Joker says. While the plot remains mostly unknown, what we do know is that we are in for a real song and dance, both literally and figuratively. Director Todd Phillips addressed the musical rumors at CinemaCon, saying, "It's a movie where music is an essential element."
The Joker 2 is set to make its debut exactly five years after Joker on October 4.
