March TBW: 17 Most Anticipated TV Shows and Movies

Shows and movies seem to be releasing at a rapid rate, making it difficult for viewers to keep track, but we don’t want you to miss a thing! Pop Culture Planet’s Jordan Bohan breaks down all the new releases for March and where to watch them.

Spaceman 

Adam Sandler may be known for his comedy, but he takes on a far more serious role in this new sci-fi drama. Based on the novel by Jaroslav Kalfař, Spaceman follows the story of an astronaut on a solitary mission coping with the loneliness and isolation of being in space. 

Spaceman premieres on Netflix on March 1. 


Dune: Part Two

After the mega success of Dune, the franchise returns with its second installment. Austin Butler and Florence Pugh join the cast alongside Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. This desert sci-fi adventure film is based on the book series by Frank Herbert and is sure to be a box office hit.

Dune: Part Two hits theaters on March 1. 


The Regime

After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet) becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable and turns to volatile soldier Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts) as an unlikely confidant while her authoritarian regime begins to crumble.

The Regime premieres on Max on March 3. 


Ricky Stanicky

Three childhood best friends (Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler) create an imaginary friend named Ricky Stanicky and, for twenty years, use the nonexistent pal as a handy alibi for their immature behavior. When their spouses and partners get suspicious and demand to meet the culprit, the guilty trio hire an actor (John Cena) to bring him to life. However, when he takes his role a little too far, they begin to wish they never invented Ricky in the first place.

Ricky Stanicky debuts on Prime Video on March 7.


Imaginary

When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest step daughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an uncomfortable attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey that she finds in the basement. As Alice’s behavior becomes erratic and concerning, Jessica intervenes only to learn that Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy she believed him to be.

Imaginary hits theaters on March 8.


Damsel

Millie Bobby Brown continues her Netflix domination playing a royal sacrifice in Damsel. After being coherced into an arranged marriage, the princess is thrown into a cave with a fire breathing dragon, forced to fight for her life. 

Damsel hits Netflix on March 8.


Kung Fu Panda 4

Po is back! In this new movie, he must train a new warrior when he becomes the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. But when a powerful sorceress sets her eyes on his Staff of Wisdom, he realizes he's going to need some help and teams up with a corsac fox.

Kung Fu Panda 4 hits theaters on March 8.


Young Royals

After two seasons, Young Royals returns for its third and final season. Simon and WIllhelm must navigate being a public couple with the pressure from the Swedish Monarchy. Is the couple endgame? 

Young Royals season 3 hits Netflix on March 11. 


Palm Royale

Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) attempts to break into Palm Beach high society and cross the line between the haves and the have-nots. Set in 1969, Palm Royale questions how much of yourself you are willing to sacrifice for higher status.

Palm Royale debuts on Apple TV+ on March 20.


3 Body Problem

A young woman’s decision in China during the 1960s reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a group of groundbreaking scientists band together with an unorthodox detective to confront and understand the greatest threat in humanity’s history.

3 Body Problem premieres on Netflix on March 21. 


Immaculate

Sydney Sweeney stars in the new horror film Immaculate, which follows a nun whose trip to the Italian countryside quickly devolves into a nightmare. 

Immaculate hits theaters on March 22. 


Arthur The King

An adventure racer (Mark Wahlberg) adopts a stray dog named Arthur who joins him in an epic endurance race.

Arthur The King debuts in theaters on March 22.


Late Night With The Devil

A 1977 live television broadcast goes horribly wrong with an evil force being unleashed into the all of the nation's living rooms.

Late Night With The Devil hits theaters on March 22. 


The American Society of Magical Negroes

Aren (Justice Smith) is recruited into the American Society of Magical Negroes by veteran agent Roger (David Alan Grier). When he finds out that the society is an ancient, secret, and magical organization dedicated to making white people’s lives easier, he faces the most challenging and unexpected journey of his life.

Catch The American Society of Magical Negroes in theaters on March 22. 


Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

The Spengler family heads to New York City to the firehouse where the original Ghostbusters have taken their job to the next level. Upon their return, the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, uniting all the Ghostbusters to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire hits theaters on March 22. 


We Were The Lucky Ones

Inspired by true events, We Were The Lucky Ones follows a Jewish family that was separated at the beginning of World War II. Members of the family are determined to survive the war and reunite with their loved ones. Joey King and Logan Lerman star in the new series. 

We Were The Lucky Ones debuts on Hulu on March 28. 


Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

The two largest beings on the planet, Godzilla and Kong, face a colossal threat hidden deep within the planet. This poses a challenge to their very existence and the survival of the human race.
