Stranger Things 4: From Vecna’s Horrifying Origins To A Predictable Finale
What if the final twist of Stranger Things is the entire show ended up being an elaborate hours-long Dungeons and Dragons campaign?
Jokes aside, the new two volume fourth season of Stranger Things finds the Hawkins crew divided into four separate, but connecting stories, that unveils the ultimate big bad of the series: Vecna.
Eleven is on a journey to the past to find her power again with the crew in California trying to save her, the Hawkins gang is working on solving a supernatural murder mystery, while Joyce and Murray try to save Hopper from a harsh Russian prison. The season dives deeper into our characters and introduces us to new ones, going heavy on the horror elements.
When it comes down to it, we got some incredible performances throughout the season, especially from Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Joseph Quinn, and Jamie Campbell Bower. The new villain Vecna has deep roots that connect back to the very beginning of the series and a captivating backstory that will truly shock viewers. Unfortunately, I do think they ruined some of the momentum by keeping the cast so separate and dividing the season into two parts, while also continuing to introduce new characters just to be killed off. This resulted in some very predictable plot points in the final two episodes.
Stranger Things 4 is streaming on Netflix.
