We’ve got a new look at Stranger Things 4, with posters and an open letter to fans from the series creators the Duffer Brothers.

Six months after the Battle of Starcourt, the Hawkins crew are separated for the first time as they navigate the complexities of high school and a new supernatural threat. Every ending has a beginning and this new gruesome mystery might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

The new posters tease the four important locations that will be featured in this new season: Russia, The Lab, Creel House, and California. “With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one,” said Matt and Ross Duffer in their statement. With a supersized finale, season 4 will be the penultimate season and season 5 will be their last.

The Duffer Brothers tease future Stranger Things spin-offs. “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes,” they said. “But first we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins, and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down.”

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 premieres May 27 and Volume 2 premieres July 1 on Netflix.
