Freaky Tales Trailer Is One Big Fever Dream

A stacked cast, the 80s, and samurai swords? Freaky Tales is the next fever dream anthology film for you!

The film’s trailer, set in Oakland 1987, depicts professional criminal Clint (Pedro Pascal) getting a gun pressed onto his head before the narrator rewinds the events to see how we got there. We’re shown a mashup of colorful characters including Clint getting assigned one last job to retrieve ancient Asian artifacts from NBA star Sleepy Floyd’s (Jay Ellis) home, angsty teen punks going head-to-head with neo-Nazis, corrupt cops, the rise of a rap duo featuring Normani, and plenty more. Of course, plans go awry as Floyd shows off his samurai sword fighting skills while the other characters have their fair share in action, bloody kills, and edgy humor amongst the 80s pop background.

Ben Mendelsohn, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, Ji-young Yoo, Angus Cloud, and Tom Hanks round out the cast.

Freaky Tales premieres April 4 in theaters.
