Zachary Quinto Leads New Medical Drama With Brilliant Minds Trailer

tv

The Doctor is in! Zachary Quinto plays a compassionate and gifted neuroscientist in NBC’s Brilliant Minds. This intriguing medical drama follows Quinto as Dr. Wolf, an eccentric doctor who embraces unorthodox techniques to treat his suffering patients.

The trailer documents Dr. Wolf’s innate desire to treat his patients suffering perplexing psychological cases with not only his mind, but his heart. Despite pushback from disapproving colleagues, Quinto’s character is relentless in his attempts to help his patients find their way back to themselves. We see a beautiful moment where Dr. Wolf helps an elderly man remember his granddaughter at her wedding reception. Instead of sticking to standard medical tests and secluding his patient to a hospital room, Dr. Wolf encourages the elderly man to play the piano at the wedding, a hobby he once loved to do. It’s a tear-jerking moment when the man finally remembers his granddaughter and it suggests that Dr. Wolf’s unusual techniques and empathy might be the cure these patients need.

The series is inspired by real-life British neurologist Oliver Sacks who dedicated his life to neurology, naturalism, science, and writing. The show will build upon Sacks’ real-life experiences through the lens of Dr. Wolf and his team of interns as they explore new ways to understand the perplexities of the human mind. While the show will dive in to the psychological disabilities of Dr. Wolf’s patients, the trailer suggests that audiences will see our main characters tackle their personal mental health obstacles as well.

Audiences might know Quinto from his infamous roles as Sylar in Heroes and Spock in the Star Trek films. Brilliant Minds is made up of a fantastic cast featuring Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spencer Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy.

Be sure to catch the premiere of Brilliant Minds on NBC on September 23 and stream each episode the following day on Peacock.
