Jake Johnson Makes His Directorial Debut With Trailer For Hulu’s Self Reliance

2023 is ending on a high note! Hulu released a trailer for their new original movie Self Reliance.

The comedy thriller stars New Girl’s Jake Johnson in his directorial debut. Along with Johnson will be the brilliant Anna Kendrick, Natalie Morales, Andy Samberg, GaTa, Emily Hampshire, Mary Holland, Boban Marjanović, Christopher Lloyd, and Wayne Brady

Johnson plays a man who’s boring, tedious life takes a thrilling turn when he’s invited into a limo by the Andy Samberg. He’s offered a chance to win a million dollars in a dark web reality TV show. The catch? Assassins from all over the world attempt to kill him for 30 days. Luckily, he’s found a loop hole. He can't be killed if he's not entirely alone, which leads to him recruiting an unlikely team to help him survive.

The film is produced by Lonely Island and Walcott Productions, while Ali Bell, Joe Hardesty, and Jake Johnson serve as producers. Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone are the comedy thriller’s executive producers.

Self Reliance will premiere exclusively on Hulu on January 12, 2024.
