Roku Releases First Teaser For The Spiderwick Chronicles
Based on the children's fantasy books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black comes a TV adaptation of The Spiderwick Chronicles, which follows the wild adventures of the Grace children.
The imaginative series has been completed for quite some time now, but the biggest complication that faced this series was which streamer would snag it. Disney+ grabbed it and then just as quickly dropped the series from their lineup. Luckily Roku has given us the best gift of all — they bought the series and all eight episodes will be free to stream and finally enjoy! Even better, Roku has released the first official teaser, giving us a glimpse of the magic that awaits.
The series will follow Helen and her children — 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory — after they move into their inherited home Spiderwick. After Jared stumbles upon a boggart, or supernatural spirit for the layman, he quickly understands that magical creatures exist. His great-aunt Lucinda is the only one who believes him and pushes him to find the pages of her father’s field guide to magical creatures in order to protect the family from the murderous Ogre known as Mulgarath.
Starring in the upcoming series is Joy Bryant, Christian Slater, Noah Cottrell, Lyon Daniels, Mychala Lee, and Jack Dylan Grazer. The Spiderwick Chronicles is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 20th Television.
Magic will officially charm your screen on April 19 on The Roku Channel.
