Leap Year

How long is too long to propose? 

For real estate agent Anna Brady (Amy Adams) in Leap Year, it’s been four years with her cardiologist boyfriend Jeremy Sloane (Adam Scott). Another year goes by without a ring so she takes matters into her own hands by recalling a celtic tradition where a man must accept a proposal on February 29 also known as Leap Day. All goes according to plan until a storm diverts her to a small village in Dingle. She enlists the help of Irish innkeeper Declan O’Callaghan (Matthew Goode) as they experience a series of unfortunate events to Dublin. Now, it’s up to Anna to realize who her true love might be.

Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson) decides to part ways with lifelong best friend Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell). Though he offers an explanation to get him off his back, Pádraic refuses and desperately tries to rekindle their friendship. The constant efforts lead Colm to give an insane ultimatum — every time Pádraic tries to talk to him, he will cut off one of his own fingers. They continue to fuel the fire to one another all while struggling with the ongoing war and its future.

She enrolls at Brooklyn College to become an accountant and soon finds romance with Tony Fiorello (Emory Cohen), an Italian American plumber, at an Irish dance. However, a crisis back home causes her to straddle between her two lives.

When her best friend is marrying the love of her life, Maddie finds herself in a predicament of being one of her bridesmaids. She puts aside her emotions to support her bestie, but wonders what her life could’ve been if she had been the one marrying Paul Kennedy (Alexander Vlahos). When she makes that exact wish, she wakes up with a whole new reality. As excited as she is to marry Paul, she runs into James Thomas (Ed Speleers) who might just steal her heart.

The Wind That Shakes The Barley

In The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Damien O’Donovan (Cillian Murphy) is about to leave County Cork, Ireland to practice medicine in London while his brother Teddy (Pádraic Delaney) commands a small unit in the Irish Republican Army. After Damien witnesses the atrocities committed by the British Black and Tans, he decides to join the IRA. After a treaty is signed, the brothers oppose each other and chaos ensues.

In Luck, this animated film follows orphan Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada) who has terrible luck all around her. Things start to change when luck comes her way in the form of a black cat and a lucky penny. Leaving her best friend Hazel behind, the mysterious cat brings Sam to The Land of Luck to meet the familiar creatures who can help turn her luck around. Her journey will lead her to realize the role luck plays in people’s lives.

Ps. I Love You follows married couple Holly (Hilary Swank) and Gerry (Gerard Butler). When Gerry dies of a brain tumor, Holly is left to grieve intensely as she’s withdrawn herself from her social life. However, before his death Gerry arranged for Holly to receive messages ending in “Ps. I love you.” Although her mother isn’t fond of this, the sweet sentiment leads Holly and her friends to visit his hometown in Ireland. From there, Holly must face changing realities and obstacles while grieving between love and loss.
