Maren Morris Featured In The Wild Robot Soundtrack

DreamWorks new animated film The Wild Robot just got two new original songs by music sensation Maren Morris!

“Kiss the Sky” and “Even When I’m Not” are featured in an emotional seven-minute geese migration scene and the end credits, respectively. “I was so emotionally moved by this story as a mother,” Morris said in a press release. “Writing the songs for this film was such an honor because it made me feel even closer to my son, especially when I’m touring and sometimes have to be far away from him. The entire Wild Robot team has been so supportive of the creation of these songs and I’m so excited for the world to see this film.”

Catch the “Kiss The Sky” music video out August 28, and don’t miss The Wild Robot and its full soundtrack out on September 27.

Ed Sheeran Records Original Song For That Christmas

Is it too early to talk about Christmas? Nope! Ed Sheeran has recorded the original song “Under The Tree” for Netflix’s upcoming animated holiday film That Christmas

Based on Richard Curtis’ children’s book trilogy, the film follows a seaside town where Christmas takes an unusual turn. Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy lead the project.

“I find since having kids, there’s a real lack of great animated children’s Christmas movies, so I thought this was such an amazing thing to make and put into the world,” Sheeran explained in a statement. “The scene that we wrote this song for is so heartbreaking, but so real for many people at Christmas spending it without the ones they love, for so many reasons. I got to work with my older brother on this, which is such a rarity and a gift to work so closely with my only sibling, it felt so good to create something my children would watch, with their uncle, based in the country they live in.”

That Christmas premieres December 6 on Netflix.
