Turning 12 just got a little more complicated in the new animated film The Casagrandes Movie. 

The trailer follows skateboard enthusiast Ronnie Anne (Izabella Alvarez) who is excited to turn 12 as her family surprises her with a trip to Mexico. During the trip, she wants to do her own things instead of her mother’s overbearing itinerary. When she catches a glimpse at Mt. Punguari, her grandma tells her a story on the ancient demigod and the curse that occurs if awakened. While skateboarding, she accidentally releases Punguari! As she enlists her family to help, they’ll encounter wacky adventures and quests along the way with monsters and shadows all over. 

The voices of Sumalee Montano, Paulina Chávez, Angélica Aragón, Sonia Manzano, Kate del Castillo, and Cristo Fernández round out the cast.  

The Casagrandes Movie premieres March 22 on Netflix.
