This week’s Pop Stop is jam packed with movie reboot, casting, and book to screen announcements, so let’s get into it!

Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac to Star in Flesh of the Gods

From director Panos Cosmatos comes Flesh of the Gods — a thriller set in 1980's Los Angeles starring Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac.

Flesh of the Gods is about a married couple as they descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm in LA. When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic Nameless and her hard-partying cabal, they are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence.

Vin Diesel's Riddick: Furya is Officially Moving Forward

Riddick: Furya, the fourth installment in the Vin Diesel-led science fiction franchise, is officially moving forward in production beginning August 26. The announcement comes as a shock, much like the franchise’s preceding success. Diesel first appeared as Richard B. Riddick in 2000's Pitch Black and the film surprisingly was a box office success and spawned two direct sequels: 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick and 2013's Riddick.

A fourth film in the franchise has been in the works since 2014, but has stalled for a plethora of reasons. Finally, after an 11 year hiatus, fans of the franchise can take a sigh of relief!

Morgan is well versed in The Neighborhood as he has previously guest-starred in a 2022 episode of The Neighborhood as a different relative of Calvin’s — his younger brother Curtis.

Colleen Hoover’s Verity is Officially Getting a Movie!

The Maze Runner Reboot in the Works!

Another book adaptation! This time, a reboot of The Maze Runner, a film trilogy that first premiered in 2014 and ran until 2018.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot will not be a redo of the story, rather the hope is to make a sort of continuation of the story while also returning to the elements that made the first movie connect with its audience.
