War Tears The US Apart From Sea To Shining Sea In New Civil War Trailer

A24 has officially dropped the second trailer for the upcoming Alex Garland film Civil War. It follows a group of journalists capturing and surviving the horrifying events of the second American Civil War.

The trailer opens with a statement from the US President (Nick Offerman) to depose the western forces of Texas and California’s “illegal secessionist government.” As a whistle cover of “America the Beautiful” plays in the background, we see abandoned cars, fires, shooters, and tanks rolling into the city — all trying to be captured by the journalists. Endless chaos occurs as people try to find a safe space among the war-torn scenery. The end reveals a dramatic shot taken at the Lincoln Memorial that blows it up.

The cast includes Kirsten Dunst, Cailee Spaeny, Wagner Moura, and Stephen McKinley Henderson

Civil War premieres April 12 in theaters.
