New Photos From Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series Welcome A New Generation To Camp Half-Blood

Calling all Percy Jackson fans to indulge in new photos from the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, based on the book series by Rick Riordan. The series follows Percy (Walker Scobell) who finds out he’s a demigod, as he trains to become a hero at a special summer camp for kids like him. 

Throughout the series, Percy and his closest companions Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries) embark on a perilous quest that takes them beyond the realm of humans. Their mission is to avert an imminent conflict among the powerful Olympian gods — a conflict with catastrophic consequences for existence as they know it. 

Riordan is writing the episodic scripts of this new adaptation, following the other two films Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters released a decade ago. Known for authentic representation, he revealed to Entertainment Weekly that this series will be even more inclusive since the inspiration for the series began with his son’s struggle with ADHD and dyslexia. His goal is for everyone watching the show or reading the books to feel empowered by the characters and see themselves represented as heroes regardless of their differences.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will debut on December 20 on Disney+.
