Viewer beware, you’re in for a scare.

Goosebumps has scared kids and families for over 30 years and now Disney+ is moving forward with a new 10-episode live-action Goosebumps series.

Inspired by the beloved books by R.L. Stine, this new show will forgo the anthology format from the TV series of the 90s, instead focusing on five high schoolers who accidentally unleash supernatural forces. They will work together to save their town, while also learning about the secrets their parents have hidden since they were teens.

The series will be executive produced by Neal J. Moritz who also produced the live-action Goosebumps feature films of 2015 and 2018. Rob Letterman, who directed the first Goosebumps films, and Nick Stoller will serve as writers and executive producers on the show, with Letterman directing the first episode.

This is the second R.L. Stine project to hit Disney+ following the Just Beyond anthology inspired by the graphic novels of the same name. The Goosebumps books are one of the best-selling book series of all time, just second to Harry Potter. The franchise resulted in over 200 books, spin-offs, an anthology series on Nickelodeon in the 90s, and two feature films, truly solidifying R.L. Stine as the king of children’s horror.

Disney+ has not yet announced a release date for the new Goosebumps series.
