MGM+ Drops Trailer For Emperor of Ocean Park And Announces New Cast Members
A trailer has been released for John Wells and Sherman Payne's highly anticipated series Emperor of Ocean Park… and it is charged with suspense.
The series is set in the world of political corruption with a backdrop of Martha's Vineyard. The trailer opens with the tragic death of Judge Oliver Garland (Forest Whitaker), who dies of a sudden heart attack, suggesting foul play. The family is devastated by the news, but it’s his daughter Mariah (Tiffany Mack), a former journalist and inveterate conspiracy theorist, who starts to uncover inconsistencies using his medical records. Tensions run high as the family begins to unravel the truth, discovering what really happened in the final days of his life. From car chases to vague threats and the FBI at the door, there is clearly more to discover.
With the trailer comes more casting announcements. Keith Powers will play Lionel “Nasty Nel” Eldridge, an ex-NBA star and now law student who looks at Tal like a mentor. Kelli Simpkins will play Dana Worth, an opinionated, whip-smart, and funny law professor who helps Tal with uncovering the mystery of his father’s death. Keith Kupferer as Mallory ‘Uncle Mal’ Corcoran, a well-connected lawyer and power broker and longtime ally to Oliver Garland and his family. Lastly, Deanna Reed-Foster will play Sally Garland, aka ‘Cousin Sally,’ a single, functioning alcoholic who is the life of the party.
Emperor of Ocean Park is coming to our screens on July 14 on MGM+, with new episodes airing on Sundays.
