Love Turns Lethal In Peacock’s Laid Trailer
What would you do if every person you’d ever slept with started dropping dead? That’s the wild question at the heart of Peacock’s new dark comedic series Laid. The show stars Stephanie Hsu, a woman named Ruby who discovers her romantic past is literally killing people.
Opening with Ruby nervously asking, “Would you wanna know if you were gonna die?” the trailer quickly escalates into a search for her ex-lovers to warn them before it’s too late. With the help of her quirky best friend AJ, played by Zosia Mamet, Ruby tracks down her past conquests to break the grim news; “Something terrible has been happening to all the people I’ve had sex with… they’re kind of dying.”
Created by Fresh Off the Boat’s Nahnatchka Khan and Will & Grace’s Sally Bradford Mckenna, Laid brings traditional rom-com beats with a darker twist, throwing in suspense and more than a little blood. Ruby’s journey isn’t just about solving the mystery behind her deadly dating history, but about revisiting her past and facing connections she’s left behind.
Featuring guest stars like Finneas O’Connell, Chloe Fineman, and John Early, this twisted love story promises to keep you laughing and gasping in equal measure.
All eight episodes of Laid will be available to binge on Peacock starting December 19.
