Lord of the Rings Expands With New Anime Movie The War of the Rohirrim Trailer

Prepare for a whole new journey back to Middle-earth in the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

Set 183 years before the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, the new film will tell the tale of the legendary King of Rohan and the House of Helm Hammerhand. A sudden attack by Wulf, a ruthless and clever lord, forces Helm to take a stand against the ancient stronghold. Now Héra, the son of Helm, is forced on a journey to lead an alliance before their enemies complete the path of total destruction.

The new original feature will be directed by award-winner Kenji Kamiyama. The voice cast includes Brian Cox, Gaia Wise, and Luke Pasqualino. Miranda Otto will also reprise her role as Éowyn and serve as the tale’s narrator. The rest of the voice ensemble includes Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Laurence Ubong Williams, Shaun Dooley, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna, and Janine Duvitski.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be in theaters this Christmas.
