Learn how Willy became Wonka in the second trailer for Wonka starring Timothee Chalamet!
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wonka tells the wondrous origin story of a young Willy Wonka and how he became the world’s greatest inventor, magician, and chocolate-maker. We even learn how he came to be friends with the famous Oompa Loompas!
In the new trailer, we see Wonka capturing a trespassing Oompa Loompa, through a magical Rube Goldberg type of contraption. It is revealed that he comes from Loompaland, a place filled with many of his kind. We also see more of Wonka’s wild inventions including a Wild and Wonderful Wishy-Washy Wonka Walker that uses a dog walking on a treadmill like object in order to power a washing machine. The other chocolatiers band together in attempts to stop Wonka from reaching success in their elite business.
The director of Paddington and producer of Harry Potter team up to bring us this spectacle of a story full of magic and music. This star studded cast includes Timothee Chalamet, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
