Hulu Announces Series Order for Chad Powers
Glen Powell and Michael Waldron are teaming up to star in a new comedy series based on Eli Manning’s alter-ego Chad Powers. The character of Chad Powers was created by Eli Manning himself as an undercover identity to learn more about the walk-on process for college football in his ESPN+ docuseries Eli’s Places.
The official description for the Hulu series is as follows: “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”
Gladiator Sequel Production is Over Budget
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming Gladiator sequel is over budget, costing around $310 million to make. Initially, Ridley Scott’s sequel of the much anticipated film Gladiator 2 featured a $165 million budget.
The Village Theater Is Under New Management
One of the most beloved movie theaters in Los Angeles, the historic Village Theater in Westwood is now under new, elite management. The group, led by Jason Reitman, totals at 35 filmmakers who united earlier this year to acquire ownership of the 93-year-old movie theater.
The group’s mission is to “preserve the architectural gem and create a cultural landmark dedicated to the beloved experience of moviegoing.” Some of the 35 filmmakers and now co-owners of the theater include Christopher Nolan, J.J. Abrams, Guillermo Del Toro, Judd Apatow, Bradley Cooper, Seth Rogen, Damien Chazelle, Steven Spielberg, Christopher McQuarrie, and James Gunn.
