HBO has just released the official trailer for True Detective: Night Country, the fourth season of the original drama series.
Written by Issa López, Night Country follows detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) who have their own troubled pasts, while they investigate the disappearance of eight scientists who operate the Tsalal Arctic reseach Station in Ennis, Alaska. As the never-ending winter night commences, they will have to confront the shortcomings in themselves while uncovering the truths that lie within the darkness.
The trailer teases that supernatural forces could be behind the murders, as the same mysterious spiral symbol that popped up throughout season 1 and season 3 appears in the trailer.
The cast includes Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and John Hawkes, with guest stars Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson, and Joel D. Montgrand.
