Maestro Trailer Unveils Troubled Romance For The Bernsteins
Bradley Cooper stars, directs, co-writes and produces the new biopic Maestro. The film follows the grand life and work of Leonard Bernstein and his complicated marriage to Costa Rican actress Felicia Montealegre, portrayed by Carey Mulligan.
The trailer, with intense choir music in the background, alludes to Leonard having a love affair when he’s seen very close to others, as Mulligan says, “One can be as free as one likes without guilt or confession.”
Being the greatest American composer, known for his work on West Side Story, comes at a price. When at a show together, Felicia catches Leonard holding someone else’s hand. She must share him with the rest of the world who adores him. Switching between black and white to color cinematography, the biopic explores their marriage, love affair, and their reconciliation.
Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Matt Bomer, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sam Nivola, Alexa Swinton, and Miriam Shor round out the cast.
Watch this fearless love story unravel in Maestro, premiering November 22 in select theaters and streaming December 20 on Netflix.
