Rita Moreno, Cheech Marin, and the OG George Lopez Cast Set To Guest Star on NBC’s Lopez vs Lopez

tv

Twenty years after The George Lopez Show premiere, George Lopez returns to the sitcom space with Lopez vs Lopez. He stars opposite his real-life daughter Mayan Lopez in this working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection, and all the pain and joy in between.

Now its been announced that some exciting special guests will appear in two episodes of Lopez vs Lopez. Rita Moreno and Cheech Marin will appear in episode 108, where Moreno will play the fiesty ghost of George’s late grandma Dolores. From smacking him with her chancla or her razor-sharp tongue, she’s on a mission to make her grandson do right by her one way or another. Meanwhile Cheech will play Carlos, a “curandero” invited into the Lopez home to help them with the uninvited spirit. He is an all-knowing, all-powerful conduit between the supernatural and the temporal worlds. He’s mystical, magnetic, and modern — yup, he takes bitcoin!

And in a George Lopez Show reunion fifteen years in the making, Constance Marie, Belita Moreno, Valente Rodriguez, and Luis Garcia have been cast to appear in episode 106. They will play Connie, Bella, Val, and Louie who are extended family members of George’s ex-wife Rosie, played by Selenis Leyva. They surprise her for a traditional Christmas Eve dinner, also known as la Nochebuena.

Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively, Laci Mosley, and Kiran Deol also round out the cast of Lopez vs Lopez.

The new sitcom premieres November 4 on NBC and will be available on Peacock the next day.
