Rachel Zegler’s Parents Turn Into Monsters In Netflix’s Spellbound Teaser
A new take on the fairytale is coming to Netflix in their new animated film Spellbound!
In the trailer we meet Ellian, a headstrong young princess who does not always see eye to eye with her royal parents. One day, a mysterious spell takes over their kingdom of Lumbria and turns her parents into monstrous magical beasts. Ellian is forced on a quest to save her parents and their kingdom before it’s too late.
Spellbound is directed by Vicky Jenson, best known for her work on Shrek, and showcases an original score composed by Disney icon Alan Menken and with lyrics by Glenn Slater. You know, two icons behind the music of projects like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Tangled. Yup, even though we don’t hear any music in this teaser, this is indeed a musical.
It’s the perfect cast for it too with West Side Story and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Rachel Zegler voicing the tenacious Ellian, alongside the all-star cast of John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, Tituss Burgess, Javier Bardem, and Nicole Kidman.
Prepare to be taken on a heartwarming and magical journey in the film. You might even see familiar things from past fairy tales along the way when Spellbound hits Netflix on November 22.
