Here’s 5 New Girl Episodes To Get You Ready For Thanksgiving
Turkey time is here and we are giving thanks to the New Girl Thanksgiving episodes. Filled with laugh out loud moments, budding romances, and heartfelt platonic moments, these episodes take you through the entire series. While binging the entire series is the best move, if you’re in a time crunch or are in an especially festive mood, Pop Culture Planet contributor Jordan Bohan breaks down each Thanksgiving episode from New Girl.
“Thanksgiving” (Season 1, Episode 6)
Jess (Zooey Deschanel) decides it would be a good idea to invite her crush and fellow school teacher Peter (Justin Long) to Thanksgiving. Naturally, things go awry. While it might be bad for Jess, it makes quality television.
“Parents” (Season 2, Episode 8)
When Jess's divorced parents Bob (Rob Reiner) and Joan (Jamie Lee Curtis) show up at the same time for Thanksgiving dinner, Jess takes the opportunity to try and "parent trap" them into a reconciliation. As you can imagine, her plan ultimately backfires.
“Thanksgiving III” (Season 3, Episode 10)
Nick (Jake Johnson) proposes they go camping for Thanksgiving after Coach (Daman Wayans Jr) made him feel insecure about his masculinity. Once everyone is in the woods, Nick reveals that he didn’t pack any of the food that Jess prepared so that they can hunt and forage instead. That plan goes horribly wrong, ending with Jess eating a fish that Nick claims he caught when in reality it was already dead.
“Thanksgiving IV” (Season 4, Episode 9)
Jess falls for fellow teacher Ryan Geauxinue (Julian Morris), but as vice principal she is forbidden from dating a teacher. This problem gets worse when Coach brings Ryan to the roommates’ “Bangsgiving” event. The crew must bring each other dates based on names drawn out of a hat. Nick finally begins to move on from Jess, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone) rekindle their flirtationship, and Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Coach get over some deep-rooted fears.
“Last Thanksgiving” (Season 6, Episode 7)
Schmidt’s formerly absent father Gavin (Peter Gallagher) makes an appearance at the holiday celebration. Jess is dating Robby (Nelson Franklin), but she spends the day preparing to break up with him. When Gavin makes a move, Robby gives an angry speech that makes her attracted to him again.
