Five International Soccer Stars Are Searching For Love Undercover

tv

Being a star isn't always the greatest thing in the world. Having money and fame makes it difficult to forge genuine relationships. While wealth can buy all the glitz and glamour, it often leaves no one to share it with. That's why these international soccer stars are searching for Love Undercover, looking to find true love that isn’t dependent on their fame.

Peacock's new dating show takes five of these stars out of the limelight and transforms them into everyday people. And what better place to search for true love than sunny Los Angeles, where people are pure of heart and not climbing the social ladder (I kid!). Los Angeles might not be my first choice in the USA to find true love, but in a dating show, you can always count on a healthy dose of ridiculousness.

These football stars are taking time off from their careers to stay in Los Angeles and hopefully find a woman they can bring home. They will conceal their fame and fortune from these women until the very end, hoping to discover a real connection. The female constants joining the show think they are looking for love with intentional men and that’s why they’re on the show.

Let’s meet the men we’ll be following over the next few weeks:

First up, Ryan Babel, the 37-year-old Dutch player who has competed in 4 World Cups and was playing in Turkey until his recent retirement last November. With an $18 million price tag, Babel is not just a football player; he owns a music company, and he is a rapper. He's got the money, the charm, and the looks. Having been in this world since he was 16, he's looking for something real, though he aiming high hoping to find his "Beyoncé" — but let's be honest, there's only one Queen B. For the next few weeks, he will be masquerading as a general contractor.

Next, Lloyd Jones, the 28-year-old who has ladies swooning. He’s an English footballer currently playing as a defender for Charlotte Athletics. Signed at the age of 16, he’s also in search of love that isn’t wrapped up in his fame — but guess who’s his type? Beyoncé, I sense some competition might be brewing. My biggest concern is that these men actually think there are Beyoncé’s casual walking around in the streets of LA. He will be posing as a strength and conditioning coach.

Jamie O’Hara, the former English footballer turned manager, is 37 years old. He previously played in the Premier League for Tottenham, Fulham, Wolves, and Portsmouth. Known for his elite skills and player ways, he’s the first of our men to have been married before. However, he cheated and his spouse sold the stories to the tabloids — a nightmare scenario. He will be disguised as an ad salesman.

Sebastian Fassi, the 30-year-old Mexican goalkeeper and son of famous football manager Andres Fassi, will go undercover as a business administrator. At the time of the show, he was playing for the Spanish Primera Federación club San Fernando CD, having last played for Tlaxcala FC in Mexico.

Lastly, Marco Fabián, the 33-year-old player and gold medalist currently playing for Empire Strykers. Featured on the cover of FIFA alongside Lionel Messi in 2016, Fabián is a legend on the field and known off it as a lively party-goer but is now ready to settle down. He will step into a familiar role as a general manager of a restaurant, leveraging his experience owning nightclubs.

For the first three episodes, we meet all the women the guys will be dating as they start their journey to finding true love. The first set of girls picked their first date through a lineup of displayed dating profiles with pictures and quotes, as the guys watched and listened to their brutally honest thoughts — not the best confidence booster for the lads. But Lloyd has no issues, the girls are swooning over the face, the eyes, and the body. Pretty boys are always stealing the show!

By episode three, the lineup is: Lloyd is into Gabby, Ryan has the hots for Ariana, Jamie has eyes for Renee, Marco was getting close to Brittany before she told him she’s still looking, and Sebastian has caught the attention of two gorgeous ladies, Jacklyn and Estefani. But not for long…

This little experiment isn’t as easy as some of the guys thought, whether it’s juggling too many ladies or realizing that part of their charm is their fame. These guys are a giant mess, but we’re only three episodes in. I’m sure things are about to get way spicier now that the guys are choosing who they want to ask to stay with them in the luxury villa.

Though I wasn’t sure we needed another dating show, am I upset Peacock is giving us another? No! I pretty sure they are on their way to taking over the reality dating show game.

Let’s see how well these guys can keep their identity a secret. Is fame just a part of them, or is fame who they are? The first four episodes of Love Undercover are streaming now on Peacock, with new episodes released weekly on Thursdays.
