From Twisters to My Spy The Eternal City, Should You Add These To Your Watchlist?

From international spies to storm chasing shenanigans, here’s the shows and movies you’ll want to add to your watchlist this week.

Exploding Kittens

Based off the hit card game comes Exploding Kittens. When an eternal conflict reaches epic proportions, both God and the Devil are sent to Earth… in the bodies of chunky house cats.

Sasheer Zamata takes on the role of Devilcat, while Tom Ellis, best known for playing the title role in Lucifer, switches sides to play GodCat. There are shocking revelations towards the end of the season, especially around Devilcat. Ridiculous, silly, and surprisingly full of heart, Exploding Kittens is corny in the best way.

Exploding Kittens is streaming on Netflix.

My Spy The Eternal City

My Spy meets Spider-Man: Far From Home as they go international in My Spy The Eternal City! Veteran CIA agent JJ (Dave Bautista) is pulling father figure duty when he becomes a chaperone on Sophie’s (Chloe Coleman) school choir trip to Italy. Together the duo must prevent a terrorist plot aimed at the Vatican.

The cast was on fire with their comedy chops as they balance father-child relationships and budding teen romance. Full of spy antics and over-the-top humor, My Spy The Eternal City is fun for the whole family!

My Spy The Eternal City hits Prime Video on July 18.

Twisters

After a devastating encounter with a tornado, Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) shuts down in Twisters. It takes her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) and his groundbreaking new tracking system to lure her back into the world of wild weather. Over the course of a week in Oklahoma, they come across storm chasing social media star Tyler Owens (Glen Powell) and his team and all face off against the worst storm season yet.

Twisters has one of the best openings I’ve seen in a while! It really sets the ground work and the stakes for the rest of the film. With solid pacing and heart pounding thrills, the movie doesn’t waste a single minute. There’s lots of parallels and callbacks through the film, although it can be a bit predictable at times. There was a few too many shaky cam shots and a bit of a weird transition between chasing tornado to helping people, but overall this was a very fun, high energy time at the theater!

Twisters hits theaters on July 19.
