Freaky Friday 2 Is Officially In Production!
Major news for Freaky Friday fans: Freaky Friday 2 is officially in production!
Disney Studios has released the first photo from set, which features Lindsay Lohan holding hands with her on-screen mother Jamie Lee Curtis. Anyone else notice that cute detail of them sitting in front of each others trailers? There’s even a TikTok of the pair back together again.
Freaky Friday aired back in 2003 and followed the rebellious teen Anna and her single mother Tess. After a cryptic experience at a Chinese food restaurant the night before, the two wake up to find that they have swapped bodies. In a hilarious and heartwarming fashion, the two learn to appreciate and understand one another on a whole new level.
Set years after the original film’s ending, Anna has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. Together, Tess and Anna discover the challenges that result from the merging of two families. Apart from the mother-daughter duo we know, we might also see more people swapping bodies the second time around!
Lohan and Curtis are set to reprise their roles — and their not the only ones! Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Lucille Soong, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will return. New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Manny Jacinto.
