Filming A Horror Movie Has Sinister Consequences In The Exorcism Trailer
Director Joshua John Miller takes the classic exorcism trope to new grounds with The Exorcism. When a troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film, his daughter wonders if he’s fallen back into addiction or if something sinister is happening.
In the trailer, we see Anthony Miller (Russell Crowe) flipping through pages that progressively become more horrific. We’re taken to the set of his new supernatural horror film where Miller’s daughter Lee (Ryan Simpkins) asks Chloe Bailey’s character why she’s using sage. “Have you forgot what kind of movie we’re making?” she responds.
As they go deeper into filming, Lee becomes suspicious of her father’s cryptic actions, such as standing in one place for a long period of time. A black vein starts to spread on Miller’s skin and the sinister events gradually increase. Lee decided to enlist the help of a local priest who had been saved once in his past. When he visits the film set, Miller’s bones crack and twist to unleash the beginning of his possession. The cast also includes Sam Worthington, Adam Goldberg, and David Hyde Pierce.
