Did You Catch These That 70s Show References In That 90s Show Season 2?

tv

Hello Wisconsin! That 90s Show season 2 is here and our Point Place crew is back for more crazy adventures. From cameos to parallels, we’re breaking down every reference to That 70s Show that you can’t miss.

Water Tower Jump

Last season left us on a cliffhanger where Leia (Callie Haverda) and Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan) almost kiss. Now the two have become increasingly nervous to tell Nikki (Sam Morelos) and Jay (Mace Coronel) the truth. After Nate leaves a message on the radio about the almost kiss, he’s seen on the iconic water tower with Nikki and Jay who overhear the message and Nate decides to jump off.

In an episode of That 70s Show, the gang decides to paint a pot leaf on the tower and, when Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) tries to fix it, he inevitably falls off.

Crazy Lovers

Kelso was a ladies man and his son Jay is no different. At a summer party in the woods, Jay runs into multiple ex-girlfriends who aren’t over him. One of them, Stacy, is a crazy, obsessed blonde girl who viewers might find similar to Fez’s (Wilmer Valderrama) ex-girlfriend “Crazy Caroline” in That 70s Show

Seth Green Returns As Mitch

When Leia decides to get a job at Hot Topic to become closer to Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide), we get a cameo from Seth Green as his Donna-obsessed character Mitch who also happens to be the boss. As he hears Leia’s last name, he asks her if she has any connection to Eric Forman (Topher Grace) who he still despises after all these years.

Kitty Mentions Laurie

Another That 70s Show beloved character was the Forman's daughter Laurie. When Nikki and Nate have a pregnancy scare, Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) offers to help by offering Nikki a pregnancy test that she still has as her “daughter Laurie was very social.” If you know, you know.

Fonzie Joke

Ayyy! Yep, the Fonzie joke still holds up in That 90s Show when Bob (Don Stark) says the kids are boring and need a Fonzie in their group along with the signature phrase “Ayyy.” In That 70s Show, there’s several mentions of Henry Winkler’s Happy Days character Fonzie, especially when Kelso gets a makeover and everyone makes fun of him saying he looks like Fonzie.

Wayne Knight Cameo

In this season's seventh episode, Red (Kurtwood Smith) is rushed to the hospital after having heart problems 一 another continuation from the original series. His chatty hospital neighbor is played by none other than Wayne Knight who also showed up in the original series as Eric’s angel.

Switching Places In The Car

Eric’s old Vista Cruiser is finally on the road as Red, Bob, and Kitty are teaching Leia to drive. The sequence shows each of them switching places in the car, which resembles how the cast would switch places during the original series’ introduction. Oh, the nostalgia!

That 90s Show season 2 is out now on Netflix.
