Bianca Belair And Montez Ford Are Dynamite Together In Love & WWE: Bianca and Montez

tv

Nowadays we’ve been flooded with multiple reality shows such as The Kardashians, Real Housewives, Love Island, The Bachelor, and more. Some are guilty pleasures, while others just don’t hold up. In the case of Love & WWE: Bianca and Montez, they follow a refreshing take on what reality shows could be.

Bianca Belair and Montez Ford are WWE superstars, as well as husband and wife. The show explores their journey to the super bowl of the WWE that is WrestleMania. We see their training, qualifying rounds, extravagant entrances, career and family pressures, and yes, a LOT of body slamming!

What sets this show apart from other reality shows is that they are both established talented people who came into fame through their hard work and dedication. You get to see their dynamic and drive together as a couple, but also on their own as Bianca chases the belt for a third time and Montez does everything he can to prove himself worthy of a WrestleMania appearance.

One of the pivotal moments in the show lies in Bianca overworking herself when she decided she was going to enter a bodybuilding pageant while training for WrestleMania. She realized she was developing an unhealthy relationship with food like she had in the past and immediately decided to just put all her energy into becoming a three peat champion. That’s an important moment for anyone to know your limits and look out for the warning signs like Bianca did so she wouldn’t spiral into unhealthy habits.

There’s also pressure from fans, friends, and family for this power couple to start a family of their own. Bianca shares that she wants to, but doesn’t know if she’s willing to sacrifice her career. I sympathize with her thoughts about that because there is so much more to consider when planning for a baby than a simple “yes.” I also like that Montez doesn’t try to change her mind. They have well thought out conversations about it and understand each other on deeper levels — despite Montezes desire for a baby.

Seeing their lighthearted banter, the way they care about their fans, the allure of WWE, the personas, and the costumes, you begin to make sense of what it takes to be a star in that industry. I’m still in shock that Montez was able to slam Otis, the biggest guy in WWE! Between all the crazy stunts, there are real moments that are enjoyable and interesting as we see the process of preparing for any event, big or small. The love is undeniable, and I can only hope that we get to see more of it all if there’s a season two!

All eight episodes of Love & WWE: Bianca and Montez is out now on Hulu
