Peeling back the layers of their relationship, a couple unleash their grudges against each other in thr upcoming dark comedy The Roses. 

The trailer depicts architect Theo Rose (Benedict Cumberbatch) enjoying his married life to brilliant chef Ivy Rose (Olivia Colman). But what seems as a lovely relationship is actually one filled with animosity between the couple.

Theo gets fired from his job while his wife is a huge success and their playful banter turns into playing humorous and cruel tricks on each other. From placing live crabs into his bath to them arguing over who should keep the house, it’s clear the couple has some things to work on, but they might as well have fun while they’re at it, right? 

Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, and Kate McKinnon round out the cast. 

The Roses premieres August 29 in theaters.
