Andrew Scott Stuns in Black and White Trailer For Ripley

tv

You may know him as the Hot Priest in Fleabag, but Andrew Scott has much more range than just being a heartthrob. Flexing his acting skills in London’s theatre scene or starring in the heartbreaking film All of Us Strangers, Scott has everything to offer. In his newest role, he takes on the dark lead character of Tom Ripley in Netflix’s limited series Ripley.

With a black and white aesthetic, it is clear that cinematography and visuals will be at the forefront of this limited series. In the trailer, we see an evasive Tom Ripley being accused of taking advantage of others after he practices impersonating the rich and charismatic Dickie (Johnny Flynn). Marge (Dakota Fanning) expresses her concern of Ripley’s behavior, but it seems to be too late as a dead body has been discovered in Rome and the accused is missing.

The series comes from Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr. Ripley that was previously adapted into a five time Academy Award-nominated film starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cate Blanchett. Though the series does not seem to be a direct adaptation, it will feature similar characters and stay in the psychological thriller genre.

Ripley premieres on Netflix on April 4.
