A Childhood Toy Returns For Vengeance In The Monkey Trailer

We had Chucky, we had M3GAN, now we have The Monkey

Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey is the newest childhood toy gone wrong, based on the short story by Stephen King. The trailer shows a woman and a man in an empty house when he asks her if his mother had left behind a toy monkey. As the woman unlocks a door, the monkey appears and kills her.

The man narrates how he and his twin brother — played by Theo James — found the wind-up toy whose evil intentions killed their family. From throwing it down a well to dismembering it, he did everything to make it go away… only for it to reappear 25 years later. As the monkey bangs its drums, the killer toy wreaks havoc in the town. From a gentleman’s club to a hibachi accident, it’s a bloody mess.

Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Tatiana Maslany, Colin O’Brien, Sarah Levy, and Rohan Campbell round out the cast.

The Monkey hits theaters on February 21.
