For all you reggaeton fans, get ready to meet the newest artist to enter the scene!

In the eight episode series Neon, co-created by executive producers Shea Serrano and Max Searle, Tyler Dean Flores plays Santi who wants to be the biggest reggaeton artist in the world. He’s joined by his best friends Ness (Emma Ferreira) and Felix (Jordan Mendoza), who also happen to be his manager and creative director, as they all move to Miami to chase their dreams.

The trailer showcases the beautiful city of Miami and the never-ending nightlife filled with parties around every corner, with “Muñekita” by El Alfa and Kali Uchis soundtracking the scene. Of course, becoming the biggest reggaeton artist isn’t a smooth ride as Santi gets tackled on stage at his first performance. Through their trials and tribulations, they encounter the harsh comedic realities of the music industry and what it means to be a performer. Myke Towers’ “LALA” plays as Santi and his team, including his A&R rep Mia (Courtney Taylor), do everything they can to prove he’s not a “one hit wonder.”

Now, what would a story about reggaeton be if we didn’t have a cameo of the king himself, Daddy Yankee? That’s right, he appears in the series and also serves as an executive producer. The rest of the cast includes Santiago Cabrera as Oscar, Jordana Brewster as Gina, Genesis Rodriguez as Isa, Zack Fox as Zale, Jhayco as Javier Luna, Villano Antillano, and cameos from other reggaeton artists. All original music will be produced by Tainy, alongside Lex Borrero and Ivan Rodriguez.

See if Santi can become the biggest reggaetonero in Neon season 1 premiering October 19 on Netflix.
