Only Murders In The Building Both Parodies And Pays Tribute To True Crime Fans

tv

In Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez play three strangers who form a bond over their shared obsession with true crime after they find themselves wrapped up in a mystery of their own. Originally alone and missing the spark they used to have, this unlikely trio find new passion and energy through the friendship they create forming their own true crime podcast to investigate a murder in their fancy New York City apartment complex. Selena Gomez, in particular, is so refreshing in the role of Mabel, taking on a tough and sarcastic New Yorker persona that is reminiscent of the role that made her famous in Wizards of Waverly Place.

A truly captivating murder mystery, Only Murders both parodies and pays beautiful tribute to the genre of true crime and their passionate fans. There are intricate clues hidden throughout the show and everyone has a motive, as they tackle not one, not two, but THREE mysteries. Two of them are solved by the end of the season, while the third just kicks off, begging the question: is Mabel guilty?

Dive deeper into who killed Tim Kono and the new mystery coming in season 2 in the video, above.
