Monster High: The Movie Trailer Introduces Us To The Teens Of Your Favorite Classic Monsters
Skull’s back in session!
Nickelodeon and Paramount+ revealed the premiere date and trailer for Monster High: The Movie, a live-action movie musical based on the iconic Monster High franchise about the children of famous monsters and creatures. The new story will follow Clawdeen Wolf (Miia Harris) who is the new to Monster High and makes fast friends with Frankie Stein (Ceci Balagot) and Draculaura (Nayah Damasen). Clawdeen finally feels like she’s found a place where she belongs… until her big secret gets in the way. Can she embrace her true monster heart despite her half human identity?
The Monster High franchise has always been about fostering a more accepting world where everyone can be proud to be their most authentic self. Now we get to see it in action as actor Ceci Balagot gets to bring their own identity to the forefront playing the first live-action non-binary character on Nickelodeon as Frankie Stein. The film promises a spooky coming-of-age adventure chock full of supernatural friendship, self-acceptance, and catchy musical numbers. Yup, I’m already obsessed with the songs “Out of the Dark” and “The Three Of Us” that soundtrack the trailer, above.
Monster High: The Movie also stars Case Walker as Deuce Gorgon, Kyle Selig as Mr. Komos, Marci T. House as Headmistress Bloodgood, Scotch Ellis Loring as Clawdeen’s dad, Apollo, Steve Valentine as Draculaura’s dad, Dracula, Jy Prishkulnik as Cleo de Nile, Lina Lecompte as Lagoona, Justin Derickso as Heath Burns, Lilah Fitzgerald as Ghoulia, and Nasiv Sall as Abbey Bominable, with even more fan favorite characters to appear from the Monster High universe.
In addition to Monster High: The Movie, an animated series based off the beloved Mattel franchise is slated to premiere later this year on Nickelodeon.
