SXSW 2024: Rachel Zegler Talks Going From The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes To Y2K

SXSW is in full swing and Pop Culture Planet’s contributors Jordan Bohan and Danielle Forte are covering the event on the ground. Directed by Kyle Mooney, Y2K is a disaster comedy where technology comes to life and wreaks havoc on the lives of a group of teens.

At the Y2K world premiere at the Paramount Theater, Pop Culture Planet grabbed a moment with actress Rachel Zegler. After huge success with West Side Story and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Zegler is switching gears and flexing her comedic muscles in A24’s new film Y2K. “It feels like a school project, all the best parts of a school project. Everybody is truly coming together to reach a common goal, to make a fucking great film, and have fun and laugh,” she told us about pivoting from a large franchise to a smaller production. “It’s such a good time.”

The A24 film is rumored to be dropping later in 2024.
