Fates Hang In The Balance In The New Trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
May the odds be ever in your favor…
Step into the world of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, a prequel to The Hunger Games franchise based on the popular Suzanne Collins novel, that takes place long before Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) pivotal role as a tribute and well before Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) rose to power as the tyrannical President of Panem.
The new trailer follows young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) in his quest to save his fading family name after war has ravaged the Capitol. Threatened with losing everything he holds dear, Snow reluctantly assumes the duty of mentoring Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) — a tribute hailing from District 12 where poverty runs rampant. When the audience is captivated by Lucy’s charm during the Games, Snow is faced with the opportunity to change their fates.
With immense stakes hanging over him and driven by survival instincts both noble and wickedly cunning alike, Snow joins forces with Lucy in a race against time. Together they strive not only to survive, but also determine whether fate will ultimately shape them into songbirds or snakes, symbols representing purity or treachery respectively.
Packed with emotion, friendship, and animosity, see what fate the duo faces in The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes in theaters November 17.
